A lovely end to 2023, a year which seems to have gone by so quickly with many of our children leaving us for Kindy in 2024. We had 2 weeks of festive fun with Christmas games and crafts and in our final week our Christmas Feast with hot chips and ice cream, always a favourite with the kids.

Graduation evening – 4 December 2023

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

We had a lovely Graduation evening for our PreSchoolers, the sun shone for us so families could enjoy our back garden. Our graduates of 2023 will be entering the big new world of Kindergarten next year and during this year we have seen them grow not just physically, but in all areas of development ready to make the significant transition to school. We are so sad to see these little ones go but excited to welcome our new PreSchoolers at the end of January. Good luck Class of 2023!

We had a lovely evening with our PreSchool children who brought along their Dads, Grandads or Uncles and loved showing them around their play areas. The children were able to sit and spend time with their grown ups to make paper planes and butterflies together at our arts and crafts table as well as get involved in some target practice on the dartboards. Luckily the rain held off for the event which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Messy Play

We had a very fun day this week with the children engaging in messy play in our backyard using multi coloured paints, sliding paper and toy trucks to make patterns and to feel and experience the texture of wet paint on paper. As you can see, the kids got very messy and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

A reminder to parents to pack a spare change of clothes for events like messy play which we shall be doing more of as the weather improves.

Indigenous weaving evening

We had a beautiful evening with one of our parents, Olivia Matthews, a proud Palawa woman from Truwana (Cape Barren Island) who is connected with her culture through art and weaving. Olivia gave our educators weaving skills which we can now pass on to our Pre-school children. We all enjoyed learning new skills while sharing food and stories together.

We had a beautiful sunny day for enjoying our garden space for our yearly Mother’s Day Morning Tea. The children enjoyed scones, jam and cream with Mum and many Mums and Grandmas enjoyed craft making, beading and posy making with their children at the various tables set out by our educators.
